Why I ❤️ to Fly
As a young child growing up in Syracuse, NY, I was always fascinated by the world around me. I loved exploring the city parks, downtown buildings and architecture that made up my city. It wasn’t long before I discovered that my point and shoot camera was the perfect tool to capture the beauty of my surroundings. From the vibrant colors of the changing leaves in the fall in Franklin Square to the grandeur of the historic architecture downtown like the Landmark Theatre, I was hooked on photography from an early age.
As I grew older, I began to explore new ways to capture the world around me. The GoPro was a game-changer for me, as it opened up a whole new world of possibilities. Suddenly, I could capture breathtaking videos and photos of my adventures like never seen before, whether I was strolling downtown Syracuse streets or hiking through nearby Green Lakes State Park or biking along the Erie Canal.
But it wasn’t until the iPhone came along that my passion for photography really took off. With its advanced camera and editing tools, I was able to take my photos to the next level. I experimented with different angles, lighting, and filters, and I loved the creative freedom that came with having a camera in my pocket at all times.
And then, just when I thought I had reached the limits of what was possible with a smartphone camera, I discovered drones. From the moment I took my first flight, I was hooked. The bird’s-eye view that a drone provides is unlike anything else, and I found myself captivated by the endless possibilities of what I could capture from above.
Now, as a drone photographer in Syracuse, NY, I’m able to combine my love of photography with my passion for exploring the world from unique perspectives. From the bustling streets of downtown to the tranquil beauty of our parks and lakes, I’m constantly seeking out new and exciting ways to showcase the beauty of my city.
One of the most rewarding things about being a drone photographer in Syracuse has been the incredible community of fans that I’ve built up over the years. Through Instagram, I’ve been able to connect with people from all over the world who share my love of photography and my passion for seeing the world from unique perspectives.
It’s been amazing to see the support and encouragement that I’ve received from this community. From buying prints of my work to sharing it far and wide on social media, my fans have been a constant source of inspiration and motivation for me. They’ve pushed me to keep exploring new techniques and angles, and they’ve helped me to grow as a photographer in ways that I never thought possible.
And the biggest compliment of all? When people mistake my photos for showcasing architecture in Rome, Italy, or the streets of New York City. It’s proof that my work really is changing perspectives and opening people’s eyes to the beauty that’s all around us, no matter where we live. And it’s a reminder of why I love what I do so much – because I get to share that beauty with the world, one photo at a time.
I have to admit, I’m still just as excited about photography now as I was when I first picked up my point and shoot camera all those years ago. It’s a passion that has stayed with me throughout my life, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next.
